Truly sustainable battery energy storage

Unlike other battery chemistries we are neither utilizing rare earths, lithium nor cobalt and thus decrease international procurement dependencies. With more than 5.000 full charging cycles proofed and possibility to refurbish the So-Cer Cell twice, battery life time amounts up to 45 years. The So-Cer cell only requires salt, water, carbon, nickel, stainless steel and alumina – all of which are globally sourceable. The unique ingredients enable 100% cost-positive recycling. In order to fill the spreading battery capacity gap, we need a sustainable, cheap and safe alternative to current lithium based battery technologies.

Known technology – New design. Fraunhofer IKTS optimized the Sodium-Ceramics battery towards cost efficiency and ecological compatibility of large scale energy storage solutions. Now we are able to bring the safest battery tech to the market: non-combustible, non-explosive, no degassing, no thermal runaway, no conduction. Everyone is crying for a hard electrolyte – we already have one. The So-Cer cell enables loss free long term storage, as there is no electrical potential without thermal activation. The wide range of operational temperature window is achieved by insulation material from aerospace for maximum thermal efficiency.
